Big Things Poppin!!

So I know my sister and hubs are reading the title to this post and rolling their eyes at my corniness....lol. But hey, that's me :-)
Lots of changes going on in the Loring Life right now and I'm SOOOO behind on updating you. I didn't want this to be long, but it is so feel free to take breaks if needed...let's get started!

ANOTHER LORING ON THE WAY!!
Kinda unbelievable huh?  Come May 2015 it's going down! We're all very excited! I think the thing I'm looking forward to the most is seeing how great of a big sister Brooklyn is going to be. She is already so excited and so involved in making sure the baby is ok. It's so sweet ❤️. Here's her little library of books that she reads daily to make sure she's prepared

Now let's go back to where we left off and catch up to now...

GRANDPARENTS DAY 2014
Mama Pat didn't let us forget about Grandparents Day this year. Wasn't that nice of her? We really do appreciate all of Brook's grandparents! Each of them are very special to her. Here's a few of the gifts they received:

BROOK TURNS THE BIG 5!!
That's a whole hand in case you didn't know...that's something she would say. I must say 5 is a pretty big deal. We've really started to try to take away some of the safety net and start some responsibility and independence and it's all reinforced with one simple phrase that seems to keep her in check..."that's what 5 year olds do"...works every time. Here are a few things we've tried to make all-Brooklyn responsibilities: getting dressed and undressed, brushing teeth and washing face in the morning, picking up after herself, buckling and unbuckling her own seat belt, assisting with cooking all meals, sleeping in her daybed without pull-out bed underneath (she hasn't fallen out yet), just to name a few. If it weren't for this little sibling of hers coming, I'd feel like it was time for me to sit back and sip a drink and enjoy my new-found freedom. I know it's short-lived though...lol.
Here's a few pics from Brook's specifically instructed birthday party that she had planning since she turned 4. Best believe she's already started putting plans together for the 6th one...what can I say...she's like her mommy :-)

TASTY TRAVELS
Here's a few snapshots from some of my culinary adventures when I'm away for work. I must say these were mostly taken pre-pregnancy or at leat before the full takeover of my appetite (or lack thereof) by the pregnancy. Nevertheless, it still gives you a glimpse. In order there's Cafe Brazil (Dallas), Cafe duMonde (NOLA), Grand Lux Cafe (Dallas), and that last one's a cheat....it's Two Sisters Cafe right in Sherwood. That's a slice of ding-dong cake or shall I say a slice of the devil because this thing is so bad it's good...lol!

BLAST FROM THE PAST!
Nostalgia alert...these babies hiding out under the alias "Duets" are actually Golden Crumbles!! Who else remembers that? You can get these at Cracker Barrell! You can thank me later ;-)

PLAYDATES WITH THE BFF...
For those of you who have asked me, yes the play dates are still going. I've finally gotten smart enough to use at-home resources that seem to be way more entertaining to the girls than the expensive outings I had been paying for...live and learn...lol.

STATE FAIR 2014
Need I say more? Brook had a blast and so did the fair with our wallets...

HALLOWEEN 2014
Halloween and really all kid-related holidays just keep getting more and more fun the older all these girls get. Especially now that they pick out their own costumes. For Brooklyn,  2014 has pretty much been all about Frozen so it's only fitting that her Halloween costume request fall right in line with that. You thought you were looking at Elsa, right? Lol...

SPARKLING FRUIT JUICE CAN BE JUST AS RELAXING AS WINE...CAN'T IT?

THANKSGIVING 2014
Included here are pics from Brooklyn's school program and Thanksgiving Day itself. We had a wonderful holiday this year and my little Gray Squirrell did a wonderful job with her performance!

CHANGING THE GAME UP
Thought I'd post a pic of Kelvin and me attending a game other than Memphis Grizzlies...we support other teams too. We recently had the opportunity to see the Celtics and Cavaliers play in Boston and had a great time...but truthfully I still enjoy The Grind House much better...my Memphis folks know what that means :-)

DIDN'T I MENTION 2014 BEING ALL ABOUT FROZEN??
  Even Mama Pat can't resist...lol

CHRISTMAS CARD PIC PERFECT :-)

GOTTA LEAVE YOU WITH A FEW LAUGHS...
If you've stuck it out this long you deserve a few laughs:

Tootles!!
