Mass Update- I've gotta get more frequent with this!

Good Ol' Family Time
So many times I find myself frustrated because I have so much I feel I should get accomplished in order to deem myself a good wife and mother.  I have now realized that it's all about setting and sticking to what I've always done best with anyway before Kelvin and Brooklyn came along --- lists and schedules.  The Type A in me has been given the ultimate platform to shine and I just haven't been taking advantage of it.  So, I recently came to the conclusion that this is how I have to do things:
Mondays and Fridays- split housework I would usually smash out on one day between these 2
Saturdays- laundry
Thursdays- Girls' Night Out w/ Mama Pat, Boys Night Out for Daddy
Fridays- grocery shopping
Sundays and Tuesdays- must cook days
--ok I have to branch off on this particular line item.  We are the commonly guilty family that goes grocery shopping but rarely cooks/eats at home.  I know it just doesn't make much sense or shall I say it didn't. I recently took the liberty of sitting down and planning what I will cook on Sunday (to last Sunday and Monday) and Tuesday (to last Tuesday and Wednesday).  Ingredients needed for that gets added to the grocery list.  Thursdays are pretty much take care of yourself through our separate nights out.  Friday is family night out to eat and Saturday is usually a date night or order in night.

I like to have some pics to go with each segment so I've included a few pics of Brooklyn enjoying one of our Friday night Family Night Out trips.  We went to Mexico Chiquito and she really dug into their theme of "Dip Your Chip Here"...lol!

Girls' Weekend Getaway!!!
Seems like it's becoming an annual tradition that Brooklyn and I travel up to Bentonville to spend some QT with Aunt Brandi and the girls.  Last year Mama Pat went but she had plans this time so it was up to us to make sure the fun ball continued to roll.  Brooklyn and I hit the road last Friday afternoon and she slept most of the way.  She woke up the last hour, but that went by without a hitch thanks to a small bag of Lay's potato chips and our Yo Gabba Gabba DVD.  When Brandi opened the door and Aubrey and Presley saw me and Brooklyn standing there, all three of the girls (Aubrey, Presley, and Brooklyn) immediately started screaming, clapping, and giggling.  They hugged each other for a few minutes.  It was so exciting!  it's like none of them knew that we were going to all get together even though Brandi and I had been telling them this for days!  It was such a surprise...lol!    Here's a pic of them below after they put on the semi-matching outfits they insisted on wearing.  As you can see they could barely contain themselves :-)

So after we were pretty much settled in, we kicked off our Girls' Weekend with something for the mommies.  We had dinner at Olive Garden.  It was quite yummy although I really didn't eat much because by the time we finally made it there and got our food it was late.  The liquid refreshments were still very tasty and relaxing though :-)  The next day it was all about the little ones.  Aunt Brandi started the morning off by making cinnamon rolls for everyone!  Then we spent a leisurely morning running around and jumping up and down on Mommy/Aunt Porsche's air bed.  After that, we were off Chuck E. Cheese's for some big fun and pizza!  After that, we went across the treat to TCBY for yogurt!  Then, we went to the park to work the yogurt and the pizza off.  Whew!!!  It was a power packed afternoon that was all worth it by the time we hit the highway to head home----it was Snoozeville the entire way! Notice how peaceful I look in the picture I'll put at the last of these snapshots.  We had a ball!

   ...Ahhhhhh

For the Real Housewives of Atlanta Watchers...
I haven't really gotten into watching that show or any of the Housewives, Baller Wives, or any other wives' shows.  However, I did manage to watch a few episodes of Real Housewives of Atlanta when I was over to Mama's one Sunday evening enough to go crazy when Kelvin came home from his trip to Atlanta recently and showed me this pic he took when he visited Bar One (by the way, the name of the bar meant absolutely nothing to me until I saw this picture)
...that's all I have to say about that...lol!

Want a New 'Do, Do You?
Hee hee hee...I'm so clever with words :-)  I wanted to start a new piece in my blog to highlight the many "faces of Porsche" when it comes to the way I change my hair so frequently.  It was quite a shock for Kelvin to adjust to when we were dating, but I think he's finally adjusted to it.  Now he actually likes some of the styles I choose as long as they're not too drastically different from how sees me when we part ways in the morning...lol!  I'm not ashamed to say that I love wigs and weaves!!!!  They are doing some pretty amazing stuff with those these days.  It also gives women an opportunity to be versatile without damaging their own hair.  Since I went natural several years back, it's so hard for me to do anything but wear a puffy ponytail when I'm wearing my hair out.  So, I really think I am all that when I find a cute new wig or get a new sew-in.  Any hoo, thought I'd post a few pics of some of my faves here recently.  From here on out, if I post pics of some of my hair stylings I will simply title that section of the post "Doin' the 'Do"...lol!  Really, that's what I'll do :-)  For some odd reason, pics I take of myself on my iPhone post sideways. I still wanted to show these really bad though so just take a chill minute and lean your head on your shoulder :-)

Even Brooklyn likes to join in on the hair fun sometimes...lol!!

Until next time.....
