ANOTHER FABULOUS UPDATE!!

WORK AT PLAY
I recently had a meeting for work in Philadelphia and it was a blast. Working in the field I work in, I don't have the joy of interacting with my co-workers face to face very often at all even though we communicate via phone, text or email daily. So, we are always excited when we get to come together for a meeting.  Although we miss our families while we're away, we really value and appreciate that I undistracted work time and fun-filled play time.  The hotel, the view, and the weather were all perfect!  During our free time, we ate at great places and with all the delays I annoyingly kept having getting out of Philly to come back home we even did a little sightseeing.  I did take a stab at a Philly cheesesteak from George's and that sucka was massive!! I was so overwhelmed by just looking at it that I didn't attack it until a couple of hours after I bought it!
I also saw homes with stoops! I know I sound like such a country girl thing to say but I don't get up North to the big cities much so it was a sightsee for me...lol.  I also gave donuts from an Amish bakery a try because a girl in the food market said they were the best....I still prefer Shipley or Krispy Kreme.  There was however this apple dumpling thing that was piping hot and topped with tons of whipped cream that 3 of us dug into that was definitely one of the best things I've ever tasted in my life!!! Last but not least we had dinner at a pizzeria one night that turned out a multi-course meal for us instead of pizza and one of the waiters even burst into song!! Now that's amore'....lol!

WHILE MOMMY WAS AWAY...
My flight home from Philly got pushed back so far from when I was originally supposed to get home that I didn't get home until late the next am :( I was so late that I wasn't there to take Brook to water day as I had promised her the day before so Daddy had to step in and take over.  I was so downhearted about it until he sent me a few pics that showed me that they were handling things just fine...so great they even had time for this photo shoot...lol! He titled this first pic "Brooklyn Fierce"... I was literally laughing so loud in the airport! Pretty cute, huh?

BIG GIRL BED IN EFFECT!!
Well we finally transitioned Brook to her first official big girl bed. I had my sights set on her having a daybed with the trundle underneath for 2 purposes....first, to transition her to her first bed without boundaries at least she wouldn't fall all the way to the floor...lol. Second, it's an extra bed for her company throughout the years so I don't have to keep dragging the air mattress out of the closet! Once the bed arrived and Kelvin got it put together, we took Brook shopping for the bedding and deco of her choice and she decided to go with a Dora the Explorer motif..lol! She's done an excellent job with the bed so far!!

SPECIAL MAMA PAT MOMENT
Recently, Brook and I helped Mama Pat have a carport sale.  Friday was pretty slow so Mama Pat decided to spend a little learning time with Brook and she successfully taught her how to write the letter A!! They worked a little on B too. The whole thing was so sweet I had to capture a little photo memory :)

Well I tried a few new things recently both of which I really liked. The first was a simple bun with my Kanekelon pony. Very easy and very classy in my opinion. I have REALLY enjoyed my relaxed hair. Makes it so easy to just whip into something like this:

The next one is a new half cap I bought for pretty cheap from Hair Sisters online just to try something and its a definite winner. Really easy to blend and really lightweight. Not overly dramatic but definitely has a little glamour punch! pow!! Lol!

MY LAST CRAFT CORNER WREATH
So, here it is the last of the pre-order wreaths I had to make. The lady who ordered this from me did so in November of LAST year and told me no rush on it!!! Well I guess I got a little too comfortable with that deadline but at least I finished it in time for the appropriate holiday. I even learned a new skill and incorporated it---those cute little colorful spiders to add a pop of color! I like the way it turned out!! Every time I make a wreath, I want one like it for my door however when I think about having to sit down and start all over again I quickly change my mind...lol!

Well that's all my fingers can take for now...I'll have to do a "my favorites" post next time...hope you're not too disappointed ;)

WARNING: This is a Biggin'

We've got so much ground to cover in this post!! For some reason I can't get blogger to work on the computer right now and that's usually my main way to do these posts so I finally decided I'm just going to have do it completely with the blogger app on my phone because my loyal followers are just missing out on way too much great stuff!! So, the font and sizing might not be what you're accustomed to from me but please bare with me :)
Anyhoo, let's get this "thang" started...lol. Daddy that was a checkpoint for you to see if you're reading ;-)

GIRL TIME
Here's a little snapshot of Toot and I being silly at Big Orange. That's become one of our fave new family restaurants. Kelvin really likes the Tilapia sandwich and I've tried several things and don't really have a favorite. But I tell you what I do love...that doggone lemon limeade they make.  Wowza!!! It's a party in my tummy!

NATURAL HAIR FOLLOWING...OR NOT...
Well I guess that would officially be not...sorry naturalistas I went back to the dark side. I just couldn't do it anymore. I never really went natural on purpose anyway. My roots just went unrelaxed so long when I was pregnant with Brook that by the time I was even remotely thinking about a touch-up half my hair was natural so I just left it that way and clipped away the relaxed over time. Truth is, due to several reasons my hair is too thin and lacks the density it needs to carry these natural styles the way I want them too. So, I'm back to my normal self...I can literally hear my hubby sighing a little sigh of relief in my head...lol!  Here's my farewell natural and hello again relaxer pics...

SIMPLE THINGS
I recently put a pic on Facebook expressing what joy something as simple as a new pair of shades from Walmart brought me in my day to day driving responsibilities with my job :) I was a happy girl!

KID SWAP
I am so behind on this on the blog. These first few pics are from Brook's visit to VBS with her BFF and they had a Greek theme. Look at my little She-ra lifting those weights...and with a sucker in her mouth at that...lol!  For the sake of blogging from my phone we'll break Kid Swap up on this post...stay tuned...

THE BEYONCE CONCERT!!!
So the hubster earned about a hundred gold stars and took me to the Beyonce concert in Nashville last month...lol! I had a blast! I absolutely love Beyonce's music and she had a pretty decent show. My only complaint was all the video breaks they had in between each song it seemed. Let me tell you that women, girls, and homosexual men came out to that concert from all over dressed to impress!!! I have never in my life seen such a thing...lol! I must admit though, I even got a little more fancy than I usually would...heck it was a Beyonce concert. I still couldn't bring myself to do the heels though....hey my motto was comfort over cute for years...I guess now it's cute and comfy :). Here's a few shots of me and my beau for the evening. I've got a pretty handsome honey, huh?  I know.

GIRLS NIGHT OUT---4 GENERATION STYLE
ahhh...I was so excited to hear that we would have a special guest joining us for GNO a few weeks ago---Nana!! We decided to go to her favorite place since she was our special guest, Red Lobster. I was the only little piggie that opted for the four course feast that night though...lol! Hey I can stretch that thing into 3 meals!

KID SWAP (PART 2)
Here comes the good stuff in this section...for my turn on Kid Swap it was Brook's BFF's birthday so I decided to treat the girls to the ultimate GNO little princess style. So, I had them wear their princess tiaras and comfy dresses and we hit the mall.  After a quick dinner at Chick Fil-A, I took the girls for their first little mani-pedis....awesome!!! From there, we went home for cupcakes and candles and the girls finished the night out giving each other makeovers...how sweet was that?

DATE NIGHT
When date night rolled around again on Kid Swap we decided to go to an old standby we haven't been to in a while---Bar Louie.. We had the tempura shrimp and the chicken nachos and 'twas good...

KID SWAP (PART 3)
For kid swap this past week, I had just returned from a long work trip and really wanted something for the girls to do that would entertain and feed them all at the same time...so we went back to Jump Zone! One major highlight of the night was our special guest Mommy's BFF, Cheryl!!! It was so nice to have adult conversation while the girls played! You can always count on your good friends to step in and save the day and do the little things to refresh your mind...like coming and listening to kids scream and eating cheese pizza when you really want supreme...lol!
The other noteworthy event of the night was the girls crashing someone's party while we were there and bumming cake off of them!!! Hilarious!

Sooooo much more to dish...but that's all my fingers can take on this post...lol
