Congrats to My Daddy!!
I was fortunate enough to participate in a great moment of family history as I accompanied my Daddy to close on his new home! Words cannot explain how exciting that day was for me! It was if as I was getting a new house to which as sweet as Daddy is, he's proclaimed that his house is for all of us :-) I told Daddy we would get G'd up for the closing because he and I share that sentimental side like that. I could barely sleep the night before I was so excited! I had my suit neatly laying on the bench in front of Kelvin and my bed and had no problems popping up the next morning...lol!
I took Daddy out for a nice lunch at Brave New Restaurant that afternoon and presented him with his very first house warming gift when we arrived at his new home later that afternoon...a welcome mat!!! I know I'm corny, but I am just beside myself with excitement for him! Enjoy the pics of that day...
So what became of the praying mantis costume??
I know a lot of you are reading this post just to see what I came up with for the praying mantis costume. Ok ok it wasn't a dead ringer for a praying mantis but you get the picture...lol! The girls both did an outstanding job with their little speeches. I was so proud of both of them. I was able to get a few blurry shots which you'll see below and of course some after-show shots with Brooklyn :-)
These girls are such camera hams...lol!
(little) Girls Night Out!!
Because both the girls seemed to have such a good time going out for fun instead of staying in, I decided to splurge again and take them out for our turn in Kid Swap last week. I wanted to find somewhere I could entertain and feed them all at once that was NOT Chuck E. Cheese's...lol! So, I know they love playing on the bounce house at her friend's house and I thought how fun would Jump Zone be for them?! So, that's where we went. For any moms of kiddos big enough for this out there---this was a great idea for a Kid Night Out on a Friday. From 6-9p on Fridays, you get admission for 2 kids, a large 1 topping pizza, two 20oz drinks and as many cups and plates as you want for around $30. It was worth EVERY SINGLE PENNY!! The girls had a blast!!
Man! Am I spoiling my child or what--- I was telling my co-workers how I never went somewhere like that growing up unless it was someone's birthday or a field trip with school...lol!
Although this pic was not from this week, I just had to share it. I hope they'll always be friends like this! Isn't this just the sweetest pic?
Hangin' at the Grind House
I guess you can say Kelvin and I are official Memphis Grizzlies fans. We've been so for a while now. It's so exciting that they are so good now that they consistently make the playoffs...so we went to the game last week! It was soooo fun! I must admit that half the hype for me is deciding what I'm gonna eat when we're there...lol! This time, I snagged a delicious funnel cake for dessert after we shared some barbecue nachos and sausage and cheese plate. Hey---don't judge me...I said we shared it...lol! I was so hungry during the nachos and stuff I didn't take a pic, but I got one of this funnel cake after a few bites...isn't it beautiful?
Needless to say, our boys won and we're looking forward to them hopefully making it to the 2nd round of the playoffs this year...and beyond!
This pic is what the sky looked like on the ride home. Kinda scary but luckily no storms on the road...
New rules...old game
At church, Brooklyn decided she would teach me how to play Scrabble. However, her version is just naming the letter correctly as you put it in the tray and sliding the letters back into the bag from the tray without any of them dropping onto the table...
Say Hello to My Little Friend...
Yikes!!! Over the weekend, Brooklyn and I went by Daddy's house to try a few paint samples we picked up and this little guy was waiting on the door frame curious to see Daddy's new digs for himself. Scared the crap out of me!!! Luckily I gained my composure quickly enough to close the door before this little "rasculp" as Brooklyn calls him was able to get in...lol! I'll admit, I almost pushed my child off the front porch trying to get her out of the way so I could close the door though...lol! She's alright though and I think I am now too...
Who's that Lady...who's that lady...
That's me y'all...trying out yet another new style. The hubby said it looked nice which is all I needed to hear to make it a permanent in the collection :-) I ended up trimming the bangs a little after this picture because I don't do well with hair in my eyeballs...lol!
Fat Suzy Homemaker
Guess this part can serve as my recipe share and fitness update all rolled into one. My fitness update...I'm off the wagon right now...lol! However, I'm still maintaining my weight well. I know I can't get too comfortable with that so I'm positioning myself to get back on track soon...I hope
On this edition of Suzy Homemaker is a single serving microwave mug brownie...oooo la la..
It was actually very good, but the chocolate was a bit strong for me. Once I cut that bad boy with some extra creamy Breyer's vanilla ice cream and some Fat Free Cool Whip though it was on like popcorn ( I know my sister's probably rolling her eyes at my corniness as she reads...lol) Even though it was just a mug size, I could not finish the whole thing..so see I'm not as bad as it seems...PLUS.. I did mention that I used Fat Free Cool Whip...lol!
Y'all Come Back Now...Ya Here!!
