I recently had a meeting for work in Philadelphia and it was a blast. Working in the field I work in, I don't have the joy of interacting with my co-workers face to face very often at all even though we communicate via phone, text or email daily. So, we are always excited when we get to come together for a meeting. Although we miss our families while we're away, we really value and appreciate that I undistracted work time and fun-filled play time. The hotel, the view, and the weather were all perfect! During our free time, we ate at great places and with all the delays I annoyingly kept having getting out of Philly to come back home we even did a little sightseeing. I did take a stab at a Philly cheesesteak from George's and that sucka was massive!! I was so overwhelmed by just looking at it that I didn't attack it until a couple of hours after I bought it!
I also saw homes with stoops! I know I sound like such a country girl thing to say but I don't get up North to the big cities much so it was a sightsee for me...lol. I also gave donuts from an Amish bakery a try because a girl in the food market said they were the best....I still prefer Shipley or Krispy Kreme. There was however this apple dumpling thing that was piping hot and topped with tons of whipped cream that 3 of us dug into that was definitely one of the best things I've ever tasted in my life!!! Last but not least we had dinner at a pizzeria one night that turned out a multi-course meal for us instead of pizza and one of the waiters even burst into song!! Now that's amore'....lol!
BIG GIRL BED IN EFFECT!!
WHILE MOMMY WAS AWAY...
My flight home from Philly got pushed back so far from when I was originally supposed to get home that I didn't get home until late the next am :( I was so late that I wasn't there to take Brook to water day as I had promised her the day before so Daddy had to step in and take over. I was so downhearted about it until he sent me a few pics that showed me that they were handling things just fine...so great they even had time for this photo shoot...lol! He titled this first pic "Brooklyn Fierce"... I was literally laughing so loud in the airport! Pretty cute, huh?
Well we finally transitioned Brook to her first official big girl bed. I had my sights set on her having a daybed with the trundle underneath for 2 purposes....first, to transition her to her first bed without boundaries at least she wouldn't fall all the way to the floor...lol. Second, it's an extra bed for her company throughout the years so I don't have to keep dragging the air mattress out of the closet! Once the bed arrived and Kelvin got it put together, we took Brook shopping for the bedding and deco of her choice and she decided to go with a Dora the Explorer motif..lol! She's done an excellent job with the bed so far!!
Recently, Brook and I helped Mama Pat have a carport sale. Friday was pretty slow so Mama Pat decided to spend a little learning time with Brook and she successfully taught her how to write the letter A!! They worked a little on B too. The whole thing was so sweet I had to capture a little photo memory :)
Well I tried a few new things recently both of which I really liked. The first was a simple bun with my Kanekelon pony. Very easy and very classy in my opinion. I have REALLY enjoyed my relaxed hair. Makes it so easy to just whip into something like this:
The next one is a new half cap I bought for pretty cheap from Hair Sisters online just to try something and its a definite winner. Really easy to blend and really lightweight. Not overly dramatic but definitely has a little glamour punch! pow!! Lol!
MY LAST CRAFT CORNER WREATH
So, here it is the last of the pre-order wreaths I had to make. The lady who ordered this from me did so in November of LAST year and told me no rush on it!!! Well I guess I got a little too comfortable with that deadline but at least I finished it in time for the appropriate holiday. I even learned a new skill and incorporated it---those cute little colorful spiders to add a pop of color! I like the way it turned out!! Every time I make a wreath, I want one like it for my door however when I think about having to sit down and start all over again I quickly change my mind...lol!
Well that's all my fingers can take for now...I'll have to do a "my favorites" post next time...hope you're not too disappointed ;)
